Thursday Playlist

06Oct11

I’m a sucker for modern music with piano in it. Piano has always been a major part of music, but guitars pretty much took over once rock music hit the scene. Great pianists like Ben Folds, Bruce Hornsby and Jamie Cullum have been busting out incredible piano-driven music, and many of my favorite artists incorporate piano into their music somewhat. Here are some great examples from the last decade or so:

‘A Dream’ by Julian Velard

This song should have been playing during the closing credits of Inception

‘The Denial Twist’ by The White Stripes

‘I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto’ by 2Pac

‘Fire’ by Augustana

Also check out ‘Boston’, ‘Wasteland’, ‘Counting Stars’ and ‘Where Love Went Wrong’

————

‘Clocks’ by Coldplay

Also check out ‘Lost?’, ‘Lovers in Japan’, ‘Trouble’, ‘The Hardest Part’ and ‘The Scientist’

————

‘Syndicate’ by The Fray
