Friday Leftovers

1. Indie rock artist Matt Wertz tweeted a link to this blog post from rock band Uniform Motion, which gives a straightforward and interesting summary of how money is divided from online music sales. Very eye-opening! On that note, check out Matt’s chill flavor of rock on his website.

2. Bassnectar is an established electro/dubstep DJ (no small task in this what-have-you-done-lately industry) known for dropping anthemic club tracks. Check out this FREE half-hour download on Brobible featuring samples from artists ranging from M.I.A. to Dick Dale! Side note: while you’re over at Brobible, surf around for some great funny content aimed at the college male.

3. Popular R&B artist Drake doesn’t mess around…he posts FREE music frequently on his blog, including these three tracks from just a few days ago:

4. More Drake? Okay. He’s one of the many artists featured on DJ Khaled‘s ‘I’m On One’, which got a fresh facelift from DJ Marvel Dynamic and is available for FREE download over at FreshNewTracks.

5. I’m still in love with Fitz & the Tantrums, so I was ecstatic when they posted a FREE iTunes playlist of artists from their record label dangerbird. The playlist features a live version of ‘Don’t Gotta Work It Out’, one of the best tracks off of their epic debut album Pickin Up the Pieces, reviewed here by your’s truly!
